Career Education Programs - Career Clusters
Construction Technology This is a two-year program designed to develop basic carpentry skills and practices. The safe use of hand and power tools needed for entry-level employment and exposure to a variety of other construction trades are emphasized. Students who like to work with their hands, enjoy physical labor and working outside, have good attendance and learn by doing are candidates for Construction Technology. Junior Construction Technology students learn basic carpentry skills and have the opportunity to intern at constructions sites for up to 40 hours during the school year. Senior Construction Technology students will participate in building a house during the first semester of the school year. During the second semester, students could qualify for early job placement.
