Apprenticeships

Intended for students willing to enter into the work force with the expectation of continuing their education. Apprenticeships available through the Akron Public Schools include Machine Trades, Machine Builders, Tool and Die, Mold Makers, Carpentry, Masonry, Plumbing, Electrical, Welding, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

Standards for entering into the Akron Public Schools Apprenticeship Program:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• On schedule for graduation
• 95% attendance
• Passing all academic classes
• Current 11th grade students
• Transportation to and from the work site
