What you will learn :
- General Office Clerical is a 37-week (910-hour) program designed for general office entry-level positions. You will receive classroom instruction and practical experience in general office clerical training.
- Coursework includes typing, word processing, calculators, record keeping, filing, business English, business mathematics, spelling and communication skills.
- Word processing skills are learned on IBM-compatible computers.
- Supportive areas of study include language arts and mathematics.
To earn a General Office Clerical certificate, you must:
- type 35 wpm with six or less errors*
- complete 90 percent of work assigned with 77 percent accuracy
- complete required hours of classroom time
Classes are held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Adult Vocational Services, 147 Park Street, Akron, Ohio 44308.
*Students not achieving the typing requirement will receive an Office Receptionist Certificate.
